Dear Brody Jenner

Dear Brody Jenner,
I find you incredibly sexy. I have not seen your show Bromance on MTV, however I've seen clips of you showering, meanwhile your buddy's walk in and watch you shower while they talk to you.
Are you trying to drive me crazy? Are you really trying to destroy me? I can't handle it. And to make matters worse, I saw this during my lunch break at work. Sure I live two blocks from my house, so if I wanted to run home and rub one out I could have, would have, but I'm back here and somehow you're my desktop background as well. Sure I work for a progressively liberal organization...
Oh fuck it.

Kill the Witch
A friend I had been out of contact with for sometime recently asked me if I’d be up for dinner/coffee this week. I said, “Yes,” especially considering she’s been an incredible friend to me since second grade, and I of course, have been a typical douche bag. But I don’t think I ever treated HER like I did last year.
But that’s another story. The message I wanted to unpack today was her message to me, “Hey it’s a new year, new perspective…” Right? After an entire year of being a shitty friend, she still found the kind heart to look on the bright side and potentially forgive me.
This year has not started off the way I’ve wanted it to. 2009 has not felt like a fantastic start to a wonderful year. I’m not sure why. I think I have been avoiding a lot the past year. I’m not sure why, but I’m ready to address a lot.
I’m ready to address friendships that are DEAD. Let’s not kid ourselves, we’re forcing so much and it’s really pathetic. I have people in my life who WANT to be friends with me, they want to grow with me and work with me, and help me as much as I now truly want to help them. A few years getting drunk together doesn’t really cut it anymore for me.
I want to further my career. MZA has been incredible to me and I want to grow and advance with them.
I want to paint with the colors I created. Not yours. Mine.

DJ Vito Fun Celebrates his Robbery

An old friend of mine, DJ Vito Fun was robbed recently and is throwing a party to celebrate his accomplishment. Read this story from the GaySocialites.com Blog! Loves It!!
Famed New York City DJ Vito Fun got robbed, but that's not the story here. The buzz is about the party he is throwing as a result.
"I got robbed, but instead of crying over spilled milk, I'm having a party," Vito says.
The shin dig will take place at Elmo in Chelsea on January 3rd. Vito Fun even recorded a video to promote it, and we've got on the GaySocialites.com Party Blog! You can get all of the gay ole' details of Vito's party there too!
As for the robbery, DJ Fun says he was robbed at gun point and his very expensive camera was stolen. Maybe he'll raise enough money at his robbery party to buy a new one!

Life as a Drunken Idiot
I've come to the conclusion that this clip is the most accurate representation of what I'm like drunk in New York. I'm clearly the witch.
And scene.

I Think I'm Ready for It...
Another normative post by Lane.
Life to me, is not what it's supposed to be. I honestly think it's because it's December and the universe and I are at odds. I keep reaching out thanking the universe for all the great things it brings me; flowers and STDS. But what's happening in my relationships with others? The boy I've loved for 3 years isn't the same person anymore. My best friend continuously hurts me and helps me in a bipolar panic of a friendship, and the girls who remain constant (Colleen, 1408, Michelle), well distance keeps us apart.
Woah is me right? Nah, I'll pick these pieces up sooner or later. Right?
Ugh, someone help!

New Year's Eve, The Countdown

I'm very excited to be attending Beri and Christopher's New Year's Eve event. I had to block out the address on this picture because we cannot have all of New York City in attendance, however, with that being said, prepare bitches for an incredible time.
I have many expectations. I expect Beri to fall down face first, and Christopher to have to pick her up. I expect Cameron to make an appearance, and I expect the worst.
You can't stop staring at me.

You Have Several Options...
I've been quite the normative rant lately. Part of my normative behavior can be explained because I've been surviving in small towns outside of Philadelphia and in small towns in New Jersey. Metronormative as it may be, I am existing in these communities without their support. Their resentment can be felt because I live my life as I choose to live my life, with introspection, and with dignity. I live my life with the freedom to respect women, and men, and trans people, the gays and lesbians, bisexuals, black, white, asian, and beyond. I choose to continue to understand the world around me as best as I can.
I cannot wait for Milk to come out. I believe that movie will light a fire inside of me that will not extinguish. I need this. I cannot wait.

A Different Kind of Pride
I call this post a different kind of pride for a reason. After President Elect Obama's win on election night, I noticed that people, young and old have a restored faith in this great nation. People are remembering what it means to have pride in their country. I'm not talking about arrogance, I'm talking about the power of coming together to make a world better for all peoples.
I talk about coming together because I spent a chunk of time recently living and working in West Hollywood, California. WeHo if you will really embraced the rejection of Proposition 8 (redefining marriage in California as one man and one woman.) As someone who does not believe in state sanctioned marriage, I was not a supporter of No on 8. That does not mean that I do not support equality; I'm a firm believer that the state should grant equality to couples no matter what their orientation, gender identity, race, religion, etc. is. I think of marriage as a union before God, a religious ceremony without any legal rights. I believe a church DOES have the right to say who they will and won't marry. I do not believe any legal rights should be included in this religious ceremony.
So I received a lot of flack from my peers in the LGBT community that I was setting the movement back. My independent thought, something that oftentimes is lacking in the LGBT community was "setting people back" somehow?
I'm not here to comment on that issue. Today what I want is to say that I'm so pleased to see my peers thinking about this issue. Sure, they're supporting something I'm not proactive in supporting, but they're out there. And they're talking to people, and they're listening. And I'm starting to see that intelligence, and discourse, and other qualities that I hold sacred are starting to resurface amongst the general public.
I thank anyone who has challenged me. Whether you agree with me or not, it's inspiring to have an intelligent conversation. It's satisfying to hear that not everyone agrees with me and can make a valid point in an argument that makes me question everything I believe.
I will not sit back in a world that offers blind faith and selective hope. I will always attempt to digest the opinions of popular culture, define my own reality, enjoy sentiments from the 'minority' and present my belief, popular or unpopular as my truth.
Thank you for letting me down off my soap box.

Perfect Monday in the city
I was lucky enough to attend GMHC's Fashion Forward last night. The entire event was thoughtful, inspiring and well...fierce. After all of the free drinks, I went out to a bar, punched a friend in the face, shoved a bouncer, called the girl bouncer a cunt...and well...died.
Maybe I should take that AA book Herbie gave me and make use of it.
